Packhunt.io and Tekla Structures Open the Door to Advanced Technologies

White Lioness technologies is on a mission to make advanced technologies more accessible than ever with its platform Packhunt.io. Now the innovative startup is taking efficiency even further with the Tekla Partners Program.

Advanced technology for everyone

White Lioness technologies was founded in 2013 by Anke Rolvink and Jeroen Coenders. The duo met while working at a large consulting company, where they would work on special projects using innovative software they had written themselves. The need to know how to write code, however, limited who was able to join in on the projects. 

Rolvink and Coenders thought anyone should be free to harness the power of advanced solutions, even if they’re not software programmers. “What previously was advanced technology, like mobile phones in the 90s, is now a commodity owned and used by everyone. We want to do the same for other technologies that are now considered 'advanced', such as 3D, parametric technology, optimization, machine learning, and AR/VR,” says Coenders.

The startup’s software platform, Packhunt.io, does exactly that. With it, users can build advanced solutions without programming. “This means that anybody can build their own advanced applications without having to hire programmers,” says Coenders. Users can, for example, create parametric product visualizations, tailor customer journeys, and optimize sales channels, and even store digital knowledge for reuse, just by using no-code building blocks and Grasshopper3D. 

Digital twins for production and analysis

Packhunt.io can help create a variety of applications, many of which revolve around a digital twin, or a virtual model of a physical object, project, process or system. This allows better analysis of data and can do everything from catching potential errors to running simulations for more productive planning.

Users often use a digital twin to design a physical counterpart and produce it. At the same time, information can flow to the virtual model from the physical counterpart or its environment using sensors or 3D scans. What’s more, Packhunt.io lets users incorporate design and engineering knowledge, including analysis and simulation, in the digital twins.

Users can also access other applications through the platform, such as structural analysis software. These applications can be used to create advanced workflows to build products or projects, analyze them and then generate production data. 

Integration with Tekla Structures equals better efficiency

Using Tekla Open API, White Lioness is currently developing an SDK for integration between Packhunt.io and Tekla Structures that will share valuable information between the two platforms. Any information that is accessible through the API can be exchanged and can then be used in application models.  

This is great news for Packhunt.io users who would like to get more out of their data. For example, a user can configure, design or engineer a product in Packhunt.io and produce it using Tekla Structures. Information can be retrieved from Tekla Structures to use in a Packhunt.io application, and vice versa.

For White Lioness, the integration is a fantastic way to increase efficiency. “Tekla is great for hosting 3D BIM models and everything which is derived from it: drawings, production data, and such. We do not want to develop all of this ourselves as part of Packhunt.io,” says Coenders. “We don’t duplicate any effort. Tekla does what it is really good at and we do what we are good at. It’s a win-win situation.”
